Annual Golf Tournament

The Foundation’s annual golf tournament is held each June and is its principal fund raiser. In June 2018, we hosted 116 golfers at the beautiful Woodstone Country Club and raised over $20,000 through the efforts of our golfers and sponsors.

Our tournament provides its participants with plenty of contests and prizes in addition to wonderful golf. We have contests for the straightest drive, closest to the pin on four different holes, “Pot of Gold”, putting, hole-in-one ($10,000.00 prize), and a ball drop.

We also hold a raffle, provide mulligans, provide a nice Tee gift (this year it was a cooler bag) for each golfer, and a discounted pass for return play at Woodstone. The best ball tournament is divided into three flights after scores have been tallied. The first, second, and third place finishers in each flight receive a valuable prize (in 2018 first place received a Bermuda Sands Rain Jacket, second place received a Bermuda Sands golf shirt, and third place received a dozen Taylor Made golf balls).

No one goes hungry at our event. We provide complimentary hot dogs, snacks, beer, soda, sports drinks, and water throughout the day. After all golfers complete their rounds, we have our awards dinner where all prizes are awarded and good fellowship is enjoyed by all.

The tournament could not take place without the help of our dedicated volunteers. In 2018, we had 22 adult volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering in 2020, please contact the Foundation.
